Dr. Brian Raines

Practice Description

Hi there! Many of my clients are high achievers looking for a therapist who will strive to understand their unique circumstances in life. They tend to feel anxious, stuck or empty despite being successful in their careers. They're used to working or living in a high-pressure environment and noticing how hard it is to maintain this lifestyle and keep the stress at bay. High performance comes at a cost and many times it’s our mental health that pays the price. Some may struggle with perfectionism. Sometimes what has "always worked" just doesn't cut it anymore and it can feel like no matter how much we try, its not enough.

My approach to therapy is one of creating an empathic and non-judgmental space where I actively collaborate with you to help you better understand yourself. I’ll actively listen to your story, ask questions, and we will have a conversation. We’ll explore your strengths, what’s working/what’s not, so that we can identify challenges and chart a way forward.

I invite you to visit my website and take a look around to get a better idea of who I am. If you’re still interested, you can contact me through Psychology Today or my website and request a free 15 minute consultation.

What types of therapy do you employ?

No two people are the same and no one treatment will work for everyone. I want to hear your story to better understand what is important to you. We will explore what needs or challenges are impacting you the most and tailor treatment in a way that genuinely resonates with you. I view therapy as an opportunity to join you on your journey and work with you to help you pursue a meaningful life. I am well versed in CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused. I have experience in using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and I am continuing to develop competency in with this mode of treatment.
